Located in Suffolk, VA — at the center of America’s Defense Industrial Base — the Mid Atlantic Academy of Skilled Trades prepares individuals for rewarding careers that contribute directly to our nation’s security and prosperity. Our program is designed to deliver real-world, hands-on training that equips participants with critical industrial maintenance skills valued by defense and commercial employers.
Cost-Free Career Training
All training is free to qualified participants — no tuition, no hidden fees.
Tool Allowance
Participants who complete the program receive a $250 tool allowance to launch their trade careers.
Apprenticeship Credit
Parts of the program count toward a formal apprenticeship pathway, giving you a head start in long-term career advancement.

Attendance
Commitment matters. Two or more unexcused absences may result in dismissal.
Transportation
Participants are responsible for their own transportation — showing readiness for real-world expectations.
Completion
Program benefits (tool allowance and apprenticeship credit) are only available to those who complete the entire course.
You must prioritize safety for yourself and others at all times. Unsafe behavior may result in removal from the program.
Protective Gear
All students must wear personal protection equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, work gloves, etc., and appropriate construction clothing during class.
Personal Accountability
Instructors will reinforce safe practices, but you are responsible for following all safety guidelines. MAST Virginia is not liable for personal injury or property damage resulting from negligence.
